Stichting Al-Boukhari is seeking a highly qualified Imam with strong experience in mosque leadership and Islamic education. You will lead the daily prayers and serve as a spiritual leader, teacher of Islamic sciences, and advisor to the community.
Stichting Al-Boukhari is a leading Islamic institution with over 800 visitors and worshippers and more than 300 students. The foundation plays a central role in the religious, educational, and social life of the community.
We are looking for an Imam who will lead the daily prayers and also serve as a spiritual leader, educator in Islamic sciences, and advisor to the community.

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Duties and responsibilities
- Lead the five daily prayers, the Friday prayer (khutbah), and religious services during Ramadan, Islamic holidays, and other special occasions.
- Teach Qur’an, Tajweed, Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir, Adab, and the Arabic language.
- Mentor students and develop educational programs for youth and adults.
- Answer fiqh-related questions and provide spiritual counseling to the community.
- Represent the foundation in religious and community contexts.
- Collaborate with the board and volunteers in developing religious and social activities.
Requirements
- Hafidh of the entire Qur’an, with recognized certification in recitation according to Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim.
- At least 3 years of experience teaching Qur’an, Tajweed, Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir, Adab, and Arabic.
- Strong knowledge of the Shāfiʿi madhhab and Usul al-Fiqh.
- At least 4 years of experience serving as an Imam in a mosque.
- Ability to teach both foundational and advanced Islamic sciences.
Language skills
- Classical Arabic: fluent
- Yemeni Arabic: fluent
- English: fluent
- Dutch: basic level minimum, with willingness and ability to learn and develop further
